eMentoring is a program designed for business owners who find scheduling a structured or more formal coaching program difficult. Due to time pressures, ad hoc meetings, impromptu customer appointments, etc. it can be nearly impossible to set aside enough time on a regular basis to get the benefit of a more traditional approach to consulting.

Yet, many owners would like to have the benefit of a mentor, someone they can talk openly to, bounce ideas off of, hold them accountable, offer support, challenge them, and at the same time be honest and straight forward with them. With the eMentoring program, an experienced executive can be as close as your keyboard or telephone. There are no formalized schedules or time requirements placed upon you as a business owner. eMentoring sessions can occur at any time of the day or evening. For ad hoc questions or issues, brief phone calls or emails work well. For more focused and extended mentoring sessions, phone calls and Instant Messaging work best. Ad hoc issues are ones, which can be addressed quickly and need not be scheduled. Focused sessions, however, are scheduled mutually as required to allow for the proper attention and concentration.

How Much Does eMentoring Cost?

The actual cost for this form of mentoring program can vary depending upon the requirement of the business owner, how often mentoring sessions are scheduled, time spent on the focused session, etc.

The Basic Program Consists of:

• Up to two hours per month of phone conversations
• Up to two hours per month of focused interaction, generally via Instant Messenger or Email

The cost for this basic package is $300 per month with no minimum monthly agreements. Additional focus sessions would be $100 per hour or $75.00 per hour in blocks of 2 hours.

eMentoring is not for everyone. It requires a different kind of discipline than traditional consulting methods. If you are comfortable around a PC, have e-mail, understand how to use an Instant messaging program, and have the desire to be mentored, then you can benefit from this program.
